MEN provides a large variety of industrial analog and binary input and output cards with a number of different features that are all qualified or screened for up to -40 to +85°C operating temperature and prepared for conformal coating.
Binary I/O cards are used to drive lamps, relays, motors or sensors. They may be used in test equipment or for communication with other computers or PLCs.
Analog I/O cards are used for filtering, concentrating and buffering of analog measuring data, for multichannel data logging, vibration and switching analysis or automatic measuring equipment and simulators.
All MEN I/O cards support optical isolation which is essential to increase noise immunity and reliability. Optical isolation is mandatory for robust computing in industrial environments. Depending on the application, the isolation voltage goes up to 500 VDC. It is implemented as isolation from the system and additionally often also between the channels.
The number of I/O channels needed also depends on the application. This is why MEN offers nearly all analog and binary I/O functions based on mezzanine cards such as M-Modules™. An M-Module™ is large enough to feature between 4 up to 32 channels and to allow for the best possible isolation, both on the PCB and at the front. At the same time it is small enough to bring 4 M-Modules™ on a 6U carrier card (or 2 M-Modules™ on a 3U carrier card).
