WARNING: Please be aware that you do MENMON™ updates at your own risk. After an incorrect update your CPU board may not be able to boot.
WARNING: After a MENMON™ update, the hardware revision displayed by MENMON™ will most probably be different from the actual hardware revision of your CPU board, because MENMON™ follows MEN's hardware revision updates.
Update Instructions
Unzip the file "menmon_A012.zip" into a temporary directory.
Connect a terminal emulation program with the COM1 port of your target board and set the terminal emulation program to 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no handshaking (if you haven't changed the target baudrate on your own).
Power on your target board, and press "ESC" immediately.
In your terminal emulation program, you should see the "MenMon>" prompt.
Enter "SERDL MENMON™". You should now see a "C" character appear every 3 seconds.
In your terminal emulation program, start a "YModem" download of file "menmon_A012.smm" (for example, with Windows® Hyperterm, select "Transfer|Send File" Protocol="YModem").
When the download is completed, reset the target CPU board.

Now EEPROM-Defaults can be set to defaults by pressing Abort-Button during bootup
Adapted LED behaviour to be analogous to MM 3.x
Added MM-Command: rboot
Fixed problem with kerpar-string longer than 80 chars
Adapted to list long FileNames and supporting wildcards for Bootfile name
Adapted to support ChameleonV2 devices finding and to handle ext. resolutions
-----[ MM_A12-4.1 ]-----
[ 2006-02-22 13:06:49 by ag ]
Removed baudrate setting problem on COM1 and COM2
Changed A12 specific ee- paramter names
Removed problem with vme_a24sa access enable
Support for serdl Device Code 'E' was added

-----[ MENMON-3.4 ]-----
This Binary was compiled using the sources from Fileset ART/14A015.0014A015-00 revision 1.29.
To prevent conflicts with MENMON 2nd Edition the sources were NOT Checked-In!
changed
- enable I/O recovery feature about 8254 I/O Write Command always
necessary for ALI1543 C B1
MENMON-3.3 ]-----
[ 2005-01-13 11:53:48 by kp ]
EPROM number F1119010
changed: don't return error when SDRAM_X not configured
-----[ MENMON-3.3-Beta2 ]-----
[ 2004-12-21 12:53:55 by kp ]
DIAG: Added SDRAM diagnostic tests (use ee-dmemXXX to enable).
DIAG: When status of a a test is NOT_PRESENT, don't include it in
mmst parameter
BOOT: Allow long linux kernel parameters, up to 256 bytes,
use ee-xkerpar to enable.
IDE: quicker detection that no drive attached
BOOT FLASH: support ST M29DW323DT
PCI:Support 64 bit BARs
E1000 driver: i82541ER support
E100: timeout added - no loop forever
TULIP: driver removed due to footprint (P12 no longer supported)
NBOOT: Reduced TFTP packet size from 1432 to 1024 bytes.
This works around problems
in networks where the MTU size is smaller than 1500. In this case, the
TFTP server would deliver fragmented IP packets, which MENMON cannot handle.
Of course, the smaller TFTP packet size makes the download a bit slower.
NBOOT Bug fix: If chararacter other than ESC entered during NBOOT, NBOOT hangs.
NBOOT: fixed problem for huge tftp() transfers when block counter
(16 bit) wraps over.
NBOOT: removed fixed timeout in rfc951_sleep
MT command: Replace old memory test by mtest2
MMU SETUP: Allow data caching on SDRAM, for SDRAM POST test
(if DCACHE is enabled, which is disabled by default)
Memory clock reported more exactly
Bug fix in EXC2_DcacheFlush: Not all ways were flushed
BOOT: Change in interpretation of ELF segment headers: Now vaddr (virtual
address field) is always used to determine the physical load address and
paddr is always ignored. Previously vaddr was only used when paddr was
set to 0xffffffff.
This change should not cause problems with existing load formats (VxWorks®
images), since GNU linker sets vaddr and paddr to the same value.
-----[ MENMON-3.2 ]-----
[ 2004-01-26 15:26:15 by UFranke ]
added
+NDL command for FLASH update via network
+NBOOT retry configurable now 1..127 or forever
+optional value parameter for C command
+cpu/mem clock in Hz to MM parameter string

-EPIC will be disabled for warm start PORT_MPC824x_EPIC_PassThrough()
-Removed WDOG show command (as it may reset board)
-----[ MENMON-3.1 ]-----
[ 2003-12-15 12:13:23 by kp ]
Support A12/D3/SC13 Layout 3 (support new PCI/PCI bridges)
Removed WDOG show command (as it may reset board)
EPROM number F1093010
-----[ MENMON-3.1-Beta3 ]-----
[ 2003-11-11 16:00:03 by kp ]
Bug fix: clear all segment regs. Otherwise the "direct store bit" may be
occasionally on which causes accesses to the segment to generate a 0x300
exception instead of 0x1000, 0x1100 or 0x1200
-----[ MENMON-3.1-Beta2 ]-----
[ 2003-10-29 13:52:46 by kp ]
- Support BAT swapping to allow MENMON to access all I/O space and SDRAM up
to 512MB.
- If multiple VGA devices found in system, enable I/O and MEM access
only for the first VGA device
- prepared for A12 CPCI bridge of layout3 (untested!)
