FPGA-based Passenger Dial Unit
This convenient multi-touch controller allows airline passengers to adjust various settings for multimedia functions from their seats.
An FPGA chip is installed in the underlying system which combines state-of-the-art technology and high-quality design. The FPGA captures quadrature encoded rotation information and makes these available to a host via registers. A parallel video input is converted to SPI and then driven to an LCD display. A motor control interface is implemented to enable deployment and retraction of the dial unit and to supervise overcurrent conditions.
Due to MEN’s long experience in FPGA development and extensive use of FPGA-based designs and their own IP core library, complex and customizable architectures are possible.
