In one application the train exchanges diagnosis data with the depot, gets route information and transmits data from its surveillance systems. A rugged embedded box PC with WLAN, LTE and GPS interfaces for vehicle-to-land communication, several Ethernet interfaces and an integrated switch for communication inside the vehicle handles these requirements.
Railway Data Center menRDC - The One-Fits-It-All Solution:
With menRDC, the complete communication between trains, train and back office or train and wayside functions can be hosted on a single computer platform – independent of the organization of the communication channels. Thanks to its scalability menRDC is able to host any desired mixture of operator and passenger service applications – PIS, surveillance, maintenance and diagnosis, efficiency management, vehicle-to-vehicle/land communication.
