SCADA System for Trucks
This automotive datalogger for data recording and pre-processing is used in the transportation sector in trucks. It comes with E1 automotive certification. The SCADA system (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) sends all information about one or several vehicles to the HQ via UMTS. The transmitted data can include the vehicle's position, its status and its next scheduled maintenance.
The compact fanless packaging supports conductive cooling and is realized around a standard COM based on Intel Atom together with a customized carrier board. Application-specific functions like the CAN bus interfaces are implemented as IPcores in the on-board FPGA.
Standard Components Used in this Example
The MM2 is an ultra-small and rugged Computer-On-Module (COM) of the ESMini family featuring an x86 Intel Atom E680T CPU. It is designed for industrial automation, medical computers, in-vehicle computers, and embedded computers in transportation. The MM2 supports conductive cooling technology and is 100% EMC proof.
