Nuremberg, Germany – January 8, 2015. The robust CC10S from MEN is a multi-display controller board based on Freescale's ARM i.MX 6 Series. The card provides full HD resolution for panel PCs from 7 to 15 inches. Through the powerful graphics and the compact form factor, the CC10S is ideal, e.g., for driver desk displays or in-seat infotainment in trains or public buses, in medical devices, or HMIs in automotive applications.
Powerful Performance and Graphics in a Compact Form Factor
Being based on an ARM Cortex-A9 architecture, the CC10S supports different types of the i.MX 6Solo, 6DualLite, 6Dual and 6Quad families. Therefore, the CC10S module is widely scalable from low-end to high-end graphics requirements. Depending on the requirements, the controller module can be fitted with a single-, dual-core or a quad-core processor. In any case, the board provides dual-channel LVDS with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The selection of memory comprises up to 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM and a soldered eMMC provides ample storage for Linux or VxWorks operating systems.
All things considered, this makes the CC10S controller a solid base for very compact solutions. Despite the compact design, its multi-stream-capable HD video engine, which delivers up to 1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode and 3D video playback in HD, enables the control of two independent screens.
With one Gigabit Ethernet interface (1000BASE-T), two USB 2.0 ports and two UARTs for flexible RS232, RS422 or RS485 configuration and supporting up to 4 Mbit/s, the CC10S offers a wide range of interfaces which are required for a typical panel PC.
For integration or software maintenance, the UART-to-USB port allows the connection to a PC as a terminal. Particularly for automobile applications, it is also possible to use one or both UART ports as CAN bus interfaces.
The CC10S multi-display controller is perfectly fit for use in harsh environments. All components are available qualified for an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, are soldered to withstand shock and vibration, and are prepared for conformal coating.
